Innocent Until Proven Guilty
Let it be Clear. I have asked no one to condemn Rabbi Shmuel Fuerst. Rabbi Fuerst’s
reputation precedes him and everyone owes him respect - except for me and those few who
have first hand knowledge of the corruption. I have only advocated the insistence that Rabbi
Fuerst purge himself of these serious allegations in a competently empowered
Court of Law.
Even my own Rosh Yeshiva to whom I feel very close, felt forced to honor Rabbi Fuerst’s
excommunication. When Rabbi Fuerst sent his Order to the Rosh Yeshiva, the Rosh Yeshiva
called me over and painfully informed me that I must cease contact with him until I succeed in
neutralizing the excommunication. This policy was copied by others. My host in Chicago called
the Rosh Yeshiva to ask if he had to honor the excommunication Order. The Rosh Yeshiva answered
that if the host had personal knowledge of the fraudulent nature of the Order, then he need not honor it.
So therefore, the respectable citizens of Jewish Chicago should continue to respect Rabbi Fuerst and
insist that he preserve that respect by accepting Aaron Thomas’ challenge to answer the full force of
the complaint.
